Our Mirador Balustrade is now certified!

A few months ago, we revealed our brand-new system, the Mirador Glass Balustrade. We are very excited and proud to add this new glass railing to our selection of balustrade systems which has now also passed all certification tests!

The Mirador balustrade system was tested to a required line load test, we can provide you with a test certificate upon request. All the tests were carried out in accordance with BS 6180:2011. A line load test is when pressure is applied to the balustrade. Once force is applied to it, it should not exceed 25mm within its fixing.

The key factors in the strength of a balustrade are what you are fixing to and the thickness of the glass. As a general guide, 0.36 kN/m should be used in residential buildings, 0.74 kN/m in busy areas such as sales areas and office walkways and 3.0 kN for venues hosting large gatherings of people.

Our Mirador Glass Balustrade

The Mirador glass balustrade is stylish and dependable while offering expansive sight lines to any property, either commercial or domestic.

What makes this glass balustrade system different from our other glass railing systems are the aluminium posts that can be powder-coated to your liking. Our clients will have the option to make their design a bit more personal with modern aluminium design posts available in a variety of colours.

The Mirador standard colours for the powder-coated handrail and posts are black, silver or anthracite grey but they can also be powder coated with any RAL colour of your choice.

Behind the design

Our team of designers have always wanted to create a system that allows for easy personalisation but also includes the most valuable benefit of glass balustrades, the unobstructed views.

The combination of frameless glass and aluminium posts created a design that can effortlessly be bespoke, is strong, and contemporary. The durable aluminium posts ensure safety while the frameless glass design allows for endless views.

We then added the option to add a handrail that can also be powder-coated to suit the overall colour scheme and of course, the option to choose the glass thickness (toughened or laminate) and finish (clear or frosted).
