A protective barrier such as an architectural glass railing for your pool is a must when it comes to keeping young children or pets safe from the water. The same goes for pools on commercial properties.
Whether you want a full wrap-around pool railing or to simply create a break between your pool and patio, SHS can help. We have a range of systems that feature Marine Grade 316 stainless steel components and toughened or toughened laminated glass that will keep the area secure and stand the test of time.
Glass pool fencing is an elegant and high-quality option that will make your pool area safer while also providing your house with a unique property value. Glass fencing also provides better visibility: children can be supervised from a distance, and no one can access the pool without being seen.
Most of our balustrade systems are simple to install and provide a range of customisation options including glass colour, satin or mirror finishes and bespoke sizes. Our team is on standby to help you design the bespoke glass pool fencing system of your dreams.

Our stunning glass pool balustrade systems feature steel pool fencing that is perfect for creating a safe and stylish protective barrier that will make your pool area look luxurious and sleek compared to wooden or mesh fencing.
Currently, there is no need for planning permission to build pool fencing, but the actual pool is subject to conditions. For example, the pool cannot sit at the front of a property adjacent to a highway and the size of the pool cannot cover 50% or more of the original outdoor space. For a complete list of regulations and the most up-to-date information on planning permission, please visit http://www.planningportal.gov.uk.
Building Regulations apply in cases where Planning Permission is required. If you are fixing the balustrade to a swimming pool decking area, please note the following:
In accordance with Building Regulations for private dwellings in England, if your decking height is up to 600mm from ground level, there is a minimum balustrade height of 900mm. If the decking height is over 600mm from ground level your balustrade will need to be a minimum height of 1100mm.
